Functional Nutritionist + Wellness Coach
A foodie at heart, Andie Jones is crazy about food, cooking, and sharing pleasurable meals with friends and family. It is this enthusiasm that fuels her mission to teach how to heal with the fork!
Andie’s personal journey has revolved around an exploration of the role of food in life and as an approach to wellness. Her interests in food and healthy living were ignited during her early years working in her family’s grocery service business and continued to grow as she navigated through her own health challenges.
After years in a the fast-paced world of advertising, Andie found herself overworked, overstressed, and overweight. She shifted her focus to searching for balance. As she floundered through restrictive fad diets, conflicting health information, and compounding self-criticism, a number of health challenges reared their heads. Fortunately, great challenges lead to great learnings! This knowledge, combined with her passion for nutrition and its role in health led to significant shifts in her wellbeing, with the added bonus of shedding those last unwanted pounds. Even better: she found her calling! Now, Andie is on a mission to share what she has learned with others to empower their own health journeys so that they live life to its fullest. And, revolutionize the modern food and health care industries while she’s at it!
As a Functional Nutritionist, Andie’s work revolves around addressing the root imbalances that can result in a storm of symptoms and health conditions. By building the body’s own resources, Andie believes the body will heal itself and thrive. It is in working with the body’s own natural wisdom that we can create optimal digestion, detoxification, immune function, balanced hormones, and more. By minimizing the stressors to these body systems, the underlying inflammatory, weight, digestive, energy, mood, sleep, or immune patterns can be resolved.
Andie’s expertise differs from traditional nutrition counseling with a one-size-fits-all approach and instead focuses on bio-individuality to create solutions that are customized for a person’s unique health status, genetics, personal preferences, and their ideal life vision. She works with many dietary approaches, and her emphasis is serving as a teacher, so that clients walk away with a better understanding of their health situations that may call for specific food, nutrient, herbal, or lifestyle interventions.
Andie is committed to helping her clients maintain lasting health transformations by creating sustainable habits one step at a time. Her core philosophy is to address the whole person by balancing the physiological needs with the emotional and intuitive aspects of eating. Her clients say that the combination of her ease with educating about complex scientific and medical concepts and her intuitive caring nature motivates and stretches them beyond their existing circumstances.
Andie is a graduate of Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition & Culinary Arts and a Certified Nutrition Educator. She is a Certified Lifestyle Educator in FirstLine Therapy, a therapeutic lifestyle change program, and is completing her Masters of Science in Holistic Nutrition at Hawthorn University in 2012.
