Energy Bars

Energy bars are a great go-to convenience when you’re on the run, traveling, or want a healthy snack.  However, most of the store-bought alternatives are full of refined sugar, bad fats, and nasty artificial ingredients.  Try these easy energy bars that you can make at home and have fun experimenting to create various flavor combinations. 


2 bananas, mashed

1/2 cup nut butter (almond, walnut, sunflower, or tahini, etc)

1/2 cup whole raw nuts (choose your favorites)

1/4 cup pumpkin or sunflower seeds (optional)

1 1/2 cup dried fruits (raisins, goji berries, apricots, cherries, blueberries, cranberries, or coconut, etc)

1 cup rolled oats

1 tsp vanilla (optional)

Pinch of cinnamon

Find raw nuts, dried fruits, and other superfoods at


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2.  Lightly grease a muffin pan with olive oil, coconut oil, butter or ghee.

3. In a food processor, coarsely chop nuts and dried fruits.

4.  Mix nut butter and bananas until you form a paste consistency.

5.  Add the rest of the ingredients to the paste and mix.

6.  Spoon the mix into the muffin cups and bake for 15 min.

7.  Wrap each of the bars individually (to take with you on the go) and store in the refrigerator for 7-10 days.

Makes 12-14 bars.
